This cottage has a story… 

The current owner, a California resident, who graduated from the old Stone School House in Suttons Bay, came “back home” in search of his Grandpa Ver Snyder’s Farm.  He found the original 80 acres of farmland and its boundaries (now subdivided) and within its periphery discovered a lakeshore parcel with a neglected cottage for sale.  Vacant since 2004, the cottage was in serious need of TLC but he purchased it in 2010, knowing the land once belonged to his Grandfather.  Cool!!

The initial plan was to tear down this cottage and start over but then… Baldwin Homes came to this lonely cottage’s rescue and its story continues.  The plot thickens….  

We repaired the foundation and brick chimney.  We installed new energy efficient everything:  siding, windows, plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall, kitchen, baths, deck and flooring.  We used the original brick on two fireplaces and chimney and original wood flooring and studs.  What a happy ending!
